The Fors is a solid walnut entryway table designed for the space between outside and in — narrow enough to live against a wall without crowding a hallway, tall enough to meet you at the door. At 30 inches wide and just 8 inches deep, it fits where other furniture can't: the narrow wall beside a front door, the gap between a staircase and a window, the entry of an apartment that has no room for anything oversized. The top has softly rounded corners and sits above legs that curve inward where they meet the apron — a hand-shaped arc that gives the piece a lightness its solid walnut construction otherwise wouldn't suggest.
The legs are where this piece earns its name. Each one curves inward at the top — a subtle arc shaped by hand that references the organic lines of mid-century Scandinavian furniture without copying them. The curve is structural as well as visual, distributing load across the joint rather than concentrating it at a single point. It is the kind of detail that takes significantly longer to make than a straight leg and looks effortless once it is done.
Two flat stretchers run the length of the table near the floor, connected to the legs with notched through-tenon joinery — the stretcher passes through the leg and is locked in place rather than simply butted against it. From the front you can see the joint clearly. We consider that a feature. Honest joinery should be visible.
The whole table is solid American black walnut — top, legs, apron, and stretchers. No secondary wood, no contrast species. Just walnut, showing the full range of what a single species can do: the dark heartwood at the core, the warm mid-tones in the legs, the occasional streak of pale sapwood that reminds you this came from a tree. Finished with danish oil in three hand-applied coats, buffed between the last two.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Refresh with danish oil once a year. Walnut deepens and mellows with age — a Fors table you own for ten years will have a warmth and patina that no new piece can replicate.
