Some pieces can't be found in a catalog. Maybe it's a dining table sized for a narrow farmhouse kitchen, a bench built to fit a particular entryway, or a keepsake chest for a new baby. Whatever you're imagining, we'd love to help you build it.

Every custom commission at Sweet Cider Woodworks begins with a conversation. We want to understand how the piece will live in your home, who it's for, what it needs to do, and what it should feel like when you walk past it every day. From there, we work by hand — sketching, milling, jointing, fitting — until what we hand you is exactly what you had in mind, and probably a little better.

We work in walnut, white oak, cherry, maple, and hard maple, and we're happy to talk through what species fits your vision best. Most custom pieces take four to eight weeks from deposit to delivery, depending on complexity.

 

How a custom piece comes to life:

1 | You share your idea
A photo, a sketch, a description, or even just a feeling — however you want to start, we'll meet you there.
2 | We talk it through
We'll follow up to get the details right — dimensions, wood, finish, how it'll be used. No pressure, no rush.
3 | You get a quote
A clear price and timeline before anything moves forward. We require a 50% deposit to begin.
4 | We build it
You'll get updates along the way — we love sharing work-in-progress shots of pieces taking shape in the shop.
5 | It comes home to you
Local pickup in Fort Wayne, local delivery, or carefully packed and shipped — your call.
